The Baxley and Appling County Hospital Authority has appointed Shannah Martin as CEO of Appling Healthcare.
Lee Lewis, Appling County Hospital Authority, Board Chair, states, “The Baxley Appling County Hospital Authority is excited to announce the appointment of Shannah Martin as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 11, 2025. With a strong vision for the future, Mrs. Martin will guide the system toward sustainable growth while fostering a culture of employee satisfaction, operational stability, and quality patient care. Under her leadership, Appling Healthcare System will continue strengthening its community partnerships and advancing its mission with integrity and purpose”.
Martin has filled the role of Interim CEO since October 2024. She has served the organization in a leadership capacity for the past three years: First as the Chief Compliance Officer and Risk Manager, and for the past two years as the Chief of Nursing.
Martin earned a Master of Science in Nursing Administration & Leadership from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Georgia College. She is noted by many to have a servant’s heart and leads in that same manner. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is actively involved with the Georgia Hospital Association and Hometown Health, recently completing GHA leadership, which is a highly prestigious program in the state of Georgia.
