Appling Healthcare Partners with Optim Healthcare Orthopedic Surgeon, David Sedory, MD

David M. Sedory, MD, from Optim Orthopedics will provide orthopedic services at Appling Healthcare in Baxley starting Aug. 20. A board certified and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Sedory has been seeing patients at Optim’s Baxley office for the past several years. Optim Healthcare and Appling Healthcare System teamed up recently to offer patients expanded access to orthopedic care in the county.

From non-surgical solutions to minimally invasive and joint preserving surgery, Dr. Sedory provides treatment for a wide range of orthopedic conditions to include hip impingement, labral tears, cartilage injury, bursitis, tendon tears, hip arthritis and snapping hip.

While he believes that non-operative measures should be the first option in nearly all patients, Dr. Sedory employs a wide variety of surgical techniques to get his patients back to their desired activities when conservative measures fail. He is a specialist in arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee, and shoulder. His practice focuses on joint and cartilage preservation surgeries including the treatment of hip impingement.

Dr. Sedory earned his medical degree in 2005 from the prestigious Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic internship and residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas, where he had the honor of taking care of many of our country’s injured soldiers and amputees returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 and then had the privilege of serving as team physician for the 75th Ranger Regiment at Hunter Airfield in Savannah. Most recently, Dr. Sedory served as Chief of Surgery at the Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart.
