The number of positive cases of COVID-19 among residents at the Appling Healthcare and Rehabilitation Pavilion has increased to 54 with no additional case pending. The nursing home also reports no additional COVID-19 related deaths.
Seven residents have been able to return to the Pavilion nursing home after being admitted into the hospital and recovering from COVID-19.
The Pavilion nursing home also reports three new cases among employees for a total of 40 positive employees. However, approximately 26 of the total (40) employees who tested positive have since returned to work.
Nursing home residents and employees who previously tested negative for COVID-19 are now being re-tested on a weekly basis. As previously stated, decisions about testing for COVID-19 in outbreak settings are made in consultation with the Georgia Department of Public Health. Appling Healthcare continues to work closely with public health officials, communicating with the DPH on a daily basis.
The National Guard will return to the Pavilion later this week to provide additional sanitation and infection control procedures.
